Fly High with World Vision and Jollibee Yumbassadors: Yumbassadors shared their secret to becoming youth achievers

Child-focused development organization World Vision recognized its over 2,000 graduates nationwide who marched closer to their dreams last March. To represent these graduates, 20 students who graduated with the highest honors in their batch were selected from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao and joined World Vision’s Flying High graduation celebration last March 25.

According to World Vision Philippines director Boris Joaquin, Flying High is World Vision’s way of giving due recognition to children who excel in academics regardless of their plight in life. “We feel proud of these students as they continue to persevere and work hard even at an early age to reach their dreams despite the limitations of poverty,

This year, World Vision invited selected Jollibee Yumbassadors as guest speakers led by teen star Sam Concepcion who himself has been a long-time World Vision Ambassador. Sam was also joined by Bam Aquino, youth leader and social entrepreneur who pioneered the HaPinoy project; Miro Frances Capili, the youngest three-time Palanca awardee; Carmela Lao, first Filipina to bag International Mathematical Olympiad medals; and Sunshine Plata, renowned coffee painter whose fan base includes Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Last year, Jollibee introduced these world-class Pinoy achievers known as Yumbassadors to promote youth empowerment and Pinoy pride among teens in line with Yum campaign. International karting sensation Jean Stefano Marcelo, Grand slam tennis champion Francis “Nino” Alcantara and award winning visual artist Nasser Lubay were also handpicked to be part of this circle.

These Yumbassadors represent young Filipino achievers who have excelled in different fields through talent, hard work and determination values that World Vision also hopes to impart to its graduates.
