Nasser Lubay (b. 1982)

Nasser Lubay is self-taught visual artist whose painting art is marked by a rich sense for colour and a dense imagination. His piece "Rebirth", that gave him honor at the Celeste International Contemporary Art Prize in Berlin, exemplifies his vibrant colour spectrum and joyful universe.

He participated as one of the 50 artists and the only Filipino in the 2nd Animamix Biennial along with contemporary superstars like Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Yoshitomo Nara, and many others in the Museum of Contemporary Art Tapei, Taiwan traveling to other museums in China. His works has been showed in other major international exhibitions: Malaysia, Italy, Mexi
co, Kuwait, New York, etc. His works has also appeared in editorial publications and many other international cross media platforms.

With "Nursery of Curiosities", the title of his first solo exhibition, he deepened his research into the the theme of cosmic germination and enriched his positive inventiveness with hints of fear and horror. His portraits are remarkable and demonstrate his ability to expand his grammar to a purely figurative world. He recently delved into sculpting and got interested in coding.

Committed to improving the world through arts, Nasser was made a Jollibee youth ambassador as a source of inspiration to those who  educated in non-artistic fields successfully turn to arts (he was educated in mechanical engineering)
